Cu ocazia Game Developers Conference 2008, Cliff Bleszinski - Lead Game Designer la Epic Games - a anunţat că în luna noiembrie a acestui an Microsoft va putea publica Gears of War 2 pentru Xbox 360 (şi peste 2 ani pentru PC ...).
Sequel-ul va pune jucătorii tot în rolul lui Marcus Fenix, în cadrul detaşamentului Delta, cu rolul de a salva umanitatea de forţele asupritoare şi foarte urâte, Locust. Mai multe detalii sunt promise în viitorul apropriat !
